Thabo Qalinge has not done enough at SuperSport United to earn himself a new contract. That’s according to the club’s CEO Stan Matthews.
The former Mpumalanga Black Aces and Orlando Pirates star has only managed five appearances so far at the Tshwane giants.
With Matsatsantsa left with only six games to complete the season, chances of the skillful winger convincing Kaitano Tembo to keep him in his team beyond this season are getting slimmer.
Matthews says at the moment they have not even started negotiating with the player.
“There are no discussions,” Matthews said.
“We have to wait to decide after the last six games as he hasn’t done enough on the field to earn the option yet.”
The SuperSport boss says as a club they expected goals and assists when they brought in the player.
“Goals, assists, minutes played, keeping guys like (Ghampani) Lungu and (Kuda) Mahachi on the bench. Like what (Guily) Manziba has done in two games.”
