Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize considers Surprise Ralani as their “inspiration’’ ahead of their clash against Black Leopards on Friday evening at Cape Town Stadium.
With his good run of form, Ralani is having a positive impact on a team that is clearly struggling but slowly getting back to winning ways with two victories and a draw in their 4 encounters in 2020.
“Well, I am just humbled by their words and it also gives me more motivation to work hard and even do more for the team so it is always great if you do good, the people around you acknowledge the good that you do so it also pushes me to do much more,” said Ralani.
Despite the left-winger being the best CT City player in the last couple of games with 2 goals and 6 assists in the Absa Premiership, Ralani says he is yet to hit top speed.
“I have been doing well at Cape Town City‚ but I don’t feel like I have reached that level where I am at my best.”
The Cape Town-based outfit will be looking to move away from the relegation zone with a revenge win over Leopards as they lost 2-1 against the same opponents in December at Thohoyandou Stadium.
“Leopards had a draw in the last game against Chiefs and everybody knows how good the Chiefs of this season is. So, they will come highly motivated. It will be a tough encounter.
“We are also looking for some revenge over them because the last time we lost 2-1 and they beat us with a sucker-punch in the last minute,” added the 32-year-old.
