Banyana Banyana were far too good as they thrashed Eswatini 5-0 in their second match of the Cosafa Women’s Championship at the Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Friday afternoon.

Mapula Kgoale and Gabriela Salgado each netted a brace as South Africa claimed back-to-back wins to move top of Group A and put one foot in the semifinals.

Sibulele Holweni was also on the scoresheet as the home side overwhelmed their opponents to follow up their 2-0 win over Angola in their opener on Tuesday.

Comoros and Angola played to a 1-1 draw in the other match in Group A.

Meanwhile, Bantwana, hammered Zimbabwe 7-0 victory to get back to winning ways in the Cosada Women’s Under-17 Championships following their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Zambia in the first game on Wednesday.

Captain Jessica Wade netted a hat-trick among a late flourish of goals as Nabeelah Galant, Jade Leask, Oyisa Marhasi and Tyler Scott also found the back of the net.

It was a rampant performance and a disappointing start for Zimbabwe in their debut in the competition.
