With the two teams that will fight for the place in ABC Motsepe League national playoffs confirmed, KwaZulu Natal football lovers are expecting a cracker of the match between Umvoti FC and Real Kings FC.
Umvoti won stream A with a two-point difference while Kings are five points away from second placed Dabeka Sporting FC who have one more match to play.
The two teams will battle for a place in this season’s national playoffs where nine teams will look to get a chance at professional football, in the GladAfrica Championship.
Real Kings, who have been in scintillating form, will look to represent KwaZulu Natal this season while Umvoti FC want to correct their mistakes in this season’s showdown.
Kings’ communications officer Siphamandla Mhlongo told FARPost that they are ready for Umvoti and they want it more.
“I’ll speak for my team, we stand a good chance when you look at everything but football is played on the field, we can talk but the match will determine the winner,” he stated.
“We can’t compromise our chance of getting to the playoffs, we are doing what we are doing, we are working well in our team the way we normally work.
“Obviously Umvoti FC have been to the playoffs on numerous occasions, but my team is stronger and ready for them.
“We are more than ready to go further and go to GladAfrica Championship next season,” added Mhlongo.
The playoffs will be played on home and away basis with the first leg today (May 12) at King Edward Stadium in Greytown and the second leg will be on May 15 at King Zwelithini Stadium.
