Real Kings midfielder Levy Mashiane says his side will relentlessly keep the ‘leading pack’ on their toes until the end of the season as they also want the ‘title coronation’.
“We will not stop chasing the leading pack. It is (league title) still within our grasp,,” said Mashiane ahead of their clash against Ajax Cape Town at Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, kickoff is set at 15:30.
Kings have won 3 of their last 5 games with their most recent result being a 1-0 loss to Steenberg United.
The Magic Boys currently occupy 7th place on the table, 5 places and 5 points behind their opponents on Wednesday, the Urban Warriors after 17 rounds of action this season.
On the other hand, Ajax will be looking to return to winning ways and end their 2-match losing streak after going down 2-1 to Steenberg United in the Cape derby before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss at home at the hands of TS Sporting in their most recent encounter.
Uthongathi are top of the log standings but a victory for Ajax will see them reclaim top spot and a win for Real Kings will see them jump to 5th place and trail Ajax by only 2 points and Uthongathi by 4.
With only 12 games to go before the GladAfrica Championship season comes to a conclusion, the Cape Town-based team will want to regain the form that saw them avoid defeat in 8 games, winning 6 of them in a row as they aim to gain automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership after failing to do so in the 2018/19 season.
Chatsworth Stadium holds good memories for the Urban Warriors with the club having won the 2008 Telkom Knockout trophy at the very same ground.
