Refiloe Jane continues great start


There were international matches on the go at the weekend during the FIFA break but some leagues all over the world continued their domestic seasons abroad.

Winger Mihlali Mayambela was definitely the shining light of the weekend.


The Portuguese Segunda Liga continued this past weekend and winger Mihlali Mayambela was the star of the day yesterday when he assisted the first goal and scored the second one as SC Farense ran out 2-0 winners against Cova Di Piedade, compatriot Thabo Cele of Piedade was on international duty with South Africa’s U23 teams.


Banyana Banyana international midfielder and vice-captain Refiloe Jane continued her great start to life Serie A with AC Milan’s women’s team and this time she participated in her first ever Milan derby against Inter Milan playing the full 90 minutes for the Rossenneri as they beat their city rivals 3-1 on the day. Jane controlled the action in the midfielder in her favourite defensive role.


The regular season closed off in the second division in the USA and Lebo Moloto finished the season strongly scoring one and assisting another as Nashville ran out as 2-0 winners against North Carolina FC to book a spot in the promotion play offs after finishing in second position in the USL Eastern Conference. Moloto played 30 games accompanied by 5 goals and double figures in assists with 10 in total.

Lindo Mfeka also booked a spot in the play offs with Reno 1868 having played 90 minutes to help his side win 2-0 against Las Vegas lights FC in the Western conference.

Tumi Moshobane finished the season with a defeat against Greenville in the league one play offs semis. The attacker has 10 goals and 4 assists in 25 games this season which was definitely one to remember for him.
