Polokwane City right back Mpho Mvelase admits that the current League position is worrisome but they are not even thinking about being relegated.
City played to a 1-all draw against Golden Arrows at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon and are second from bottom tied on points with Leopards, Baroka and AmaZulu – all on 17.
But with only 11 matches remaining this season, Mvelase who was voted Man of the Match on Sunday, says the next 2 matches (against Stellenbosch and AmaZulu) will be crucial for them.
“No, no, no, I think it’s a matter of knowing when to take off so the relegation zone I don’t think that’s where we would like to see ourselves at the end of the season or the playoffs. That’s not our thinking right now,” Mvelase told FARPost.co.za.
“At least these 2 upcoming games we are hoping that we will get all 3 points to take us out of the relegation zone. We go through the log everyday even myself as a player when I am home that’s what I look at. Obviously my teammates are also doing the same I hope.”
The Absa premiership man of the match award was a first for the 30-year-old since joining Rise and Shine two seasons ago.
