Relegation strugglers bag crucial points in GladAfrica Championship

It was a Saturday of surprises in the GladAfrica Championship as bottom teams proved that they can still cause upsets in the league.

Bottom-placed Bizana Pondo Chiefs held Free State Stars to a 1-1 draw at Princess Magogo Stadium to grab a much needed point.

Pondo Chiefs’ point could prove worthless as fellow strugglers also collected points.

In Tsakane, Jomo Cosmos were stunned 1-0 by Steenburg FC, as the Western Cape side got much needed three points on the road.

Steenburg are now placed on 14th position with 27 points after 24 matches, they are nearing closer to safety.

The astonishing result of the weekend came from Parrow Park, where Cape Town All Stars grabbed three valuable points against title contenders TS Sporting with a 1-0 score line.

Their victory took them to 13th on the GladAfrica Championship log with 28 points from 25 matches.

In another GladAfrica Championship match, Royal AM beat Uthongathi FC 3-1 at Chatsworth Stadium.
