Royal AM will go to Lucas Moripe Stadium today afternoon with a clear mandate, to dethrone Pretoria Callies in their own back yard.
The two sides occupy position four and five in the GladAfrica Championship log table respectively and they have similar fortunes in league form.
Though Royal AM will look to turn the tables against the Tshwane side that recently defeated them in the league at home. The KZN outfit has been on the spotlight for having the youngest chairman in the professional league, who is also a player, Andile Mpisane.
But that will count for nothing when they clash with the newly promoted Callies side who are led by prolific Thabiso Nkoana upfront.
Meanwhile, Royal AM who are coached by experienced Sammy Throghton have a number of seasoned campaigners, with PSL experience and they will look to the likes of Kabelo Mahlasela to guide them to victory. Their recent form of three wins and one defeat in five games will be a confidence booster against a side that is shy in front of goals, having only scored two goals in the last five matches.
This promises to be a scintillating affair with three points up for grabs and both sets of players will be eager to keep their hopes of promotion to the big league. A win for Royal AM would possibly take them to just two points behind log leaders Richards Bay FC who settled for a draw against Pondo Chiefs.
Callies on the other side will look to complete a double against Royal AM in the league, which will take them to third place on the log.
With both technical teams having prepared their troops for the contest, now the responsibility will be on the players to deliver positive results.
