Royal AM take their matter to the Constitutional Court

Royal AM president and business woman Shawn Mkhize has lived up to her words of exploring all the legal avenues to fight for her club.

The club has filed papers for an urgent hearing in the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein, in their attempts to find unlawful their removal from first position in the GladAfrica Championship.

The beleaguered KwaZulu Natal club has been fighting the matter since the announcement by Premier Soccer League that Sekhukhune United were crowned as  GladAfrica Championship champions, two months ago.

Shawn Mkhize had vowed to fight for what she believed is unfair treatment by the league towards her club.

Royal AM have now through their lawyers applied for an urgent hearing before Thursday 12 August 2021, as they believe the matter affects both the DStv Premiership and GladAfrica Championship.

Meanwhile, the PSL has issued the fixtures for both leagues which are set to commencement in August.

Royal AM have an opener against Cape Town All Stars, whom they drew against in the last match of last season.

It remains to be seen if the acting Chief Justice will grant Royal AM their wish and rule on the matter before the start of the season.
