SA ABROAD: Banyana players on winning sides


There were wins for Jermaine Seoposenwe and Thembi Kgatlana, as well as another start for Percy Tau as we look at how our overseas based players fared over the weekend.

The Bafana Bafana star man got another start for Club Brugge in the Jupiler League as they thumped rivals Genk 2-1 in the league which ultimately puts them in pole position to lift the league this season after their closest rival Gent dropped points at Cercle Brugge on Sunday .


Banyana Banyana midfielder Jermaine Seoposenwe featured in the second half for Real Betis as they got a big 2-0 win against Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish La Liga to boost them as they fight to avoid the drop.


Kgatlana’s good start to life in Portugal continues with another goal in the Portuguese League cup as SL Benfica thumped home town neighbours CF Benfica 4-0 in the semifinals.


The Stars of Africa product seems to have sealed his place in the starting XI at SAD Belenenses after he started and played yet another 90 minutes in their goalless draw against high flying Rio Ave in the Primeira Liga. Phethe plays on the right side in a three man defence for Belenenses after being converted to centre back a seasons ago while he was at Guiimaraes.


Midfielder Pule Ekstein played the whole 90 minutes for Sabail as they drew 1-1 against Neftchi in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
