SA players overseas weekend preview

With the November international break now finished, players from all over the world switch focus back to their clubs.

The South African national team had a good week as Bafana Bafana took all six points from Sao Tome ePrincipe in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

AGF AARHUS vs FC MIDTJYLLAND 

DANISH SUPERLIGA

South African winger Gift Links never rested during the international break as his side Aarhus were in Danish Cup action on the 12th of November against Kolding. Aarhus advanced to the next round of the competition after winning 4-3 on penalties and Links started the game. The 22-year-old will now be looking to continue starting in the team as they take on Midtjylland on Sunday in a must win game.

Aarhus sit third in the Superliga table with 15 points from the first 8 league games of the season, they are a point behind their opponents who are in second place with 16 points.

UD OLIVEIRENSE vs PACOS FERREIRA

 Bafana Bafana winger Luther Singh is still in search of his first goal in the colours of Pacos Ferreira and after doing well with the national team in the international break the 23-year-old will be going back to his club with a lot of confidence. The Stars of Africa Academy graduate has a perfect opportunity to break his duck against second division side Oliveirense in the Portuguese Cup on Sunday evening.

GLASGOW RANGERS vs ABERDEEN  

SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE

14:00 PM (SA TIME) 

Bongani Zungu has had a truly amazing two weeks in his career. The midfielder had a dream debut on the 8th of November as Rangers hammered Hamilton 8-0 and the Bafana Bafana star was praised for his second half performance in that game. While on international duty with South Africa, Zungu applied himself well and helped the country get six crucial points against Sao Tome. This Sunday he is expected to get his first start in the colours of Glasgow Rangers as they host Aberdeen at Ibrox in the league. 

CD MIRANDES vs FC CARTAGENA 

SPANISH SEGUNDA LIGA 

SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER  

17:00 PM (SA TIME) 

The 22-year-old striker has applied himself well since arriving at Mirandes on loan from Rio Ave. He has been a regular feature in most of their league goals this season. The striker had a setback with an ankle injury, but now after fully recovering he has been getting some minutes under his belt featuring in the games against Almeria and Sporting Gijon. The striker is still looking for his first goal in the colours of Mirandes although he has assisted a single goal already this campaign. 

REAL MASSAMA vs SAD BELENENSES 

TACA DE PORTUGAL 

MONDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2020 

18:45 PM (SA TIME) 

Central defender Thibang Phete is expected to be in the starting line-up against the third division side in the Portuguese Cup, but it is his compatriot Sphephelo Sithole who will definitely be looking to get a chance to prove himself in this cup game. The KZN Academy graduate has already made his senior debut for the club at the end of the 2019/20 season against SC Braga and he will want to continue to prove his worth to coach Nuno Oliveira.
