After successfully qualifying for the 2020 Japan Olympics by finishing 3rd at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) last year the South African national Under-23 men’s national team is set for a camp in Japan during the March international window.
This would be good for the national team considering that they will need to adapt to the Japanese weather conditions and time in order to have a good preparation for the tournament to be held at the end of July.
Japan would also be a good opponent for Coach David Notoane’s charges and with the draw set to take place soon South African might draw an Asia opponent so playing Japan would be good preparation .
The Olympic games will be held from the 24th of July to the 9th of August 2020 and South Africa will be looking to make a big impact this time around unlike in 2016 where they crashed out in the group stage of the global showpiece.
