SA U23s last hurdle as they face Egypt


A place in next year’s Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be up for grabs when the South Africa Under 23 team take on hosts Egypt in the semi-finals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations tonight.

The Olympic Pharaohs qualified from the group stage in style with three wins from three games topping Group A.

The David Notoane coached side on the other hand reached the semi-finals in a different style. Yet to concede any goal and have just scored once with one victory and 2 draws.

South Africa are the only survivors from Africa’s representatives in the latest Olympics in Rio 2016 while Egypt are eyeing their 12th appearance in the multi-sports quadrennial event; an African record.

Kick-off for the match is at 20:00 SA time at the Cairo International Stadium.
