It’s just three days before the big showdown in Casablanca, Morocco where South African giants Kaizer Chiefs will clash against Egyptian club Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League final.
This will be Chiefs’ first ever participation in the final and a lot people have shown support for the Glamour Boys.
The KwaZulu Natal Football Association chairman Kwenza Ngwenya has encouraged Amakhosi to represent the country well in Africa.
“We wish them success because they are not only representing themselves as Kaizer Chiefs, but the whole country, they are carrying the South African flag,” he stayed.
“As SAFA KZN we wish them the best of luck, we want them to win the trophy and get themselves a star,” added Ngwenya.
Chiefs will be the third South African side to clash with AL Ahly in the final of the continental show piece, after both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates lost against Al Ahly in 2001 and 2013, respectively.
Adding more excitement to the affair is the fact that Al Ahly are coached by South Africa’s Pitso Mosimane, who has won two Champions League trophies.
