South African Football Association (SAFA) Limpopo are mourning the death of its provincial secretary Patrick Seema.

He passed away on Tuesday at a Pretoria hospital following a long illness.

He had been the regional secretary for over a decade. Before that, he was the secretary of the Waterberg region.

“Indeed the news that our PS is no more is true, and it’s official,” SAFA Limpopo President Jack Maluleka confirmed to FARPost.

“We lost the PS at around 05:00 at a Pretoria hospital. So the family were called earlier in the morning at around 05:00 and when they got there they got the sad news that he is no more.

“We lost a giant, I can tell you Seema was SAFA himself. In terms of organizing, running the league, arranging tournaments he would never bother anybody,” he said.

Seema’s memorial is scheduled for this coming Saturday. He will be laid to rest on Sunday.
