Mohamed Salah has congratulated Harry Kane on winning the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker award this season.
Going into the final game of the season, Kane had some work to do on both fronts, tied on 22 goals with Salah at the top of the standings and being just one strike clear of Bruno Fernandes in the assists charts with 13 to his name.
The striker scored one goal and assisted another as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Leicester City 4-2 on Sunday. This sealed both awards in the final match of the season.
Kane won the Golden Boot award for the third time in his career and became the second player in the history of the Premier League to finish with the most assists and goals in a single season after Andy Cole in the 1993/94 campaign.
The fact that he managed to achieve it while playing for a Spurs side that finished in seventh place in the table makes it an impressive achievement.
Salah commented on Kane’s post on Twitter congratulating him on winning the award.
“Very well deserved, congratulations,” said Salah.
Since arriving at Anfield, Salah has won the accolade two times. He finished the 2017/18 campaign with 32 goals and followed that up with 22 strikes the following season (2018/19).
Kane returns to the top of the Premier League scoring charts for the first time since winning it in the 2016/17 season where he finished the campaign with 29 goals.
Bruno Fernandes (18), Patrick Bamford (17) and Son Heung-Min (17) complete the top five goal scorers in the division.
