Salah is not happy at Liverpool – Aboutrika

Former Egypt captain Mohamed Aboutrika has come out claiming that his countryman Mohamed Salah is not happy at English champions Liverpool and could be open to an exit at the club in the near future.

The two-time African Cup of Nations winner told beIN Sports that Salah is currently frustrated at Anfield especially after not being given the captain’s armband in a recent UEFA Champions League game against FC Midtjylland “I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that would never affect his performance on the field;” he said.

“I know that Salah is not happy in Liverpool, he told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public. One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he was not the captain against Midtjylland,” he added.

Speaking to the media the Liverpool winger also recently came out confessing how he was not pleased about being snubbed for the captaincy in that game “Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it’s a coach’s decision. I accept it,” he explained.

Salah also spoke about the recent transfer rumours linking him with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona “That’s a tough question, but right now I can say that everything is in the hands of the club,” he said when asked about how long he sees himself at Anfield. Of course, I want to break records here and, I repeat, all the club records, but everything is in the hands of the club,” he continued

“I think Madrid and Barcelona are two top clubs. Who knows what will happen in the future, but right now I am focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool again,” he concluded.

Last weekend the Egyptian came off the bench and scored two late goals as Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 in a league game at Selhurst Park and this coming weekend the champions will host struggling West Brom in their last fixture of 2020.
