There is certainly no doubt in the mind of Hossam El Badry that Mohamed Salah, ‘The Egyptian King’ is the embodiment of hard work, dedication and success with many African aspirating footballers looking to follow in his footsteps.
Salah has won the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and the PL Golden Boot in his first two campaigns with ‘The Reds’.
Overall, the Egyptian international has netted 94 goals and provided 41 assists since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the 2017/18 season.
“What Salah has achieved so far makes us so proud of him. He’s reached the highest level and has become an icon for Egyptians. It is no exaggeration to say he’s considered a role model in the Arab World and Africa,” said Egypt coach El Badry in an interview with FIFA.
“I know very well that he likes challenges and that the national team is of the utmost importance to him.
“Salah has reached the highest level of professionalism and understands his rights and responsibilities. He’s the cornerstone of the national team and carries the hopes of all Egyptians. However, we shouldn’t overburden him,” concluded El Badry.
