Mohammed Salah has won the Liverpool Goal of the Month for December.
Salah scored a beautiful curling effort into the top corner from 20 yards out as the English champions thrashed Crystal Palace away from home on the 19th of December 2020. This strike has now been voted as the club’s Goal of the Month by Liverpool fans. He wrapped up the 7-0 win at Selhurst Park in sublime fashion.
The Egyptian claims the prize for the fourth time in a row having won it since September last year. The 28-year-old has been scooping the award for his outrageous goals in the Premier League.
Roberto Firmino took both second and third place in the final vote, for his last-minute winner against Tottenham Hotspur and the first goal at Palace respectively.
Georginio Wijnaldum’s long-range beauty against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield was voted as the fourth best effort, with Firmino’s dinked second goal against Palace voted fifth.
It has been a good three and a half years for the attacker since his move from Italian side AS Roma. He has been breaking goal scoring records at the Premier League club and won two golden boot awards in the process.
In his first season in England, Salah scored 32 league goals in 36 league games. Alongside Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino upfront, the former Fiorentina striker led the Reds to a first Uefa Champions League triumph since 2005 and last season he played a crucial role as they won the English Premier League title for the first time in 30 years.
Jurgen Klopp’s charges have started the 2020/21 campaign well and currently sit top of the log standings with 33 points from 17 games. In 16 appearances in the league, the ‘Egyptian King’ has netted 13 goals and assisted a further three strikes as Liverpool continue their title defence.
