Bafana Bafana striker Percy Tau played his first 90 minutes in a Brighton and Hove Albion t-shirt.
The 26-year-old was named in the starting line-up by coach Graham Potter as the Seagulls took on the Foxes in the 5th round of the English FA Cup on Wednesday night.
Tau was one of a few changes made by coach Brendan Rodgers to the squad as he rested the majority of the regular players. It’s not been a smooth couple of months for the former Mamelodi Sundowns star as he continues to adapt to life in the English Premier League.
In January, the forward was recalled from his loan at Belgian giants Anderlecht and he is yet to open his goal scoring account nor assist a goal for the club so far.
Graham Potter has often explained that it’s going to take sometime for the striker to adjust to English football and the club’s style of play. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world so moving from Belgium is a big jump.
An additional time goal from Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho was enough to seal victory for the visitors as they progressed to the next round of the competition.
In Denmark, Gift Links continued his form for AGF Aarhus as he netted in their 3-1 win against B93 on Thursday night.
Links was introduced for the last 15 minutes of the encounter and it took three minutes for the 22-year-old to get on the score sheet as he extended the lead for the Superliga side. This was the winger’s fourth goal of the season for Aarhus as he has scored three goals in the league.
He has established himself as one of the regular players in the team. Aarhus sits in third position on the log with 28 points from 15 league games.
