Despite winning only one match in the opening six encounters of the DStv Premiership campaign, Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema insists he has the full backing from the powers-that-be.
Club boss Chippa Mpengesi is well-known for his impatience given the track record in chopping and changing of coaches in recent years due to poor results.
Under Seema, the ‘Chilli Boys’ have collected just five points out of a possible 18 in the league.
But the 40-year-old who joined on a three-year deal in July says the club is fully behind his vision.
“The thing is I didn’t come and do my things in isolation,” Seema told the media on Monday.
“We sat with the management and I told them my vision and they bought into it, so the support has been very, very good and I am quite confident that they can see where the team is going.
“If you watch the team when they are playing, you can see that there is something that is happening, because the first thing we had to find our identity and the structure of the team. We are a little bit concerned about conceding goals and we are coming against a very dangerous team (Orlando Pirates) that has got a lot of attack and with speed on the wings and combinations.
“But the support has been very good and I am happy with the management of the team and the Chairman (Chippa Mpengesi) and everybody associated with the team and, yeah the players also they are taking responsibility and looking forward to this game and finishing the year on a high,” said Seema.
“To answer your question, the support is good and there is nothing to complain about,” he added.
United are currently at position 13 on the log, four points above bottom placed side, Maritzburg United. They will travel to Orlando Stadium to face Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night.
