Senegal and Mali have booked their Total U17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tickets slated for Morocco this year.
Senegal edged Mali 2-0 to secure a top place of the qualifying tournament that took place in Thiès (western Senegal) over the weekend.
Both countries will represent West Zone ‘A’ at the Afcon U17 tournament.
Mali reached the zonal trophy qualifying tournament finals, beating Guinea Bissau 5-0 before hammering Mauritania 5-1 in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Senegal crushed Mauritania in Group A and Guinea Bissau in the semi-final with the same score of 4-0.
In addition to the zonal trophy, Gambia and Sierra Leone were disqualified after playing their first matches of the competition because of non-compliant MRI tests.
