Former Lesotho head coach Thabo Senong has been heavily linked with a move to Sekhukhune United ahead of the new season.
A source close to FARPost has confirmed that Sekhukhune, who gained automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership – crowned the 2020/21 GladAfrica Championship champions have acquired the services of Senong to serve as an assistant coach to MacDonald Makhubedu.
The former South Africa under-20 coach, Senong recently resigned as Lesotho senior national team head coach with immediate as a move to Sekhukhune is imminent – on the cards.
“Senong has signed with Sekhukhune. He will be joining them as an assistant coach, it is a done deal. It is only a matter of time before the club announces his arrival,” said the FARPost source.
According to the Lesotho Football Federation (LFF), Senong – who had already named his provisional squad for the upcoming 2021 Cosafa Cup set to be held in South Africa – tendered his resignation after “receiving an offer from elsewhere.”
