Juventus reclaimed top spot in Serie A and went one points clear of Lazio after beating title rivals Inter Milan 2-0 on at Allianz Stadium on Sunday in a game that was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Aaron Ramsey assisted by Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opener early in the second half while Paulo Dybaba made it 2-0 a few minutes later with Ramsey being the provider this time around.

Third-placed Inter, coached by Antonio Conte are now nine points adrift with a game in hand on defending champions Juventus and second-placed Lazio.

Juve coach Maurizio Sarri was satisfied with his side’s victory. “An important victory, even if there are still many matches to play, in theory.

“The path is still long, but good quality was seen tonight. In our last game there was a lack of nervous energy: those who were better (physically) took to the field,” added Sarri.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo’s 1000th first-team game in his career. Ronaldo has scored a total of 725 goals and winning six League titles, five Champions League trophies, five Ballon d’Ors and Portugal’s first international honours.

Meanwhile Genoa moved away from the Serie A drop zone after pulling off a 2-1 shock victory over AC Milan at an empty San Siro on Sunday.

Genoa went into the half time break 2-0 up thanks to goals by Goran Pandev and Francesco Cassata. Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled one back for Milan but the visitors managed to hold on and left the iconic San Siro with all the three points.

The result sees Milan drop to seventh place on 36 points, while Genoa moved into 17th place on 25 points.
