Peter Shalulile plans to ruin Al Ahly’s bid of clinching back to back Caf Champions League titles as the striker is eager to taste success with Mamelodi Sundowns on the continent.
The Namibian has enjoyed a superb run of form since joining Sundowns at the start of the season.
The ‘Brazilians’ will take on Pitso Mosimane’s side Al Ahly tonight in what promises to be an enthralling Champions League quarterfinal first leg tie at Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo.
Sundowns will be looking to their leading goalscorer Peter Shalulile to lead the line against the Egpytian giants.
Shalulile said that he is aware of the competitive nature of their opponents.
“We are playing against good players and tactical players that are very good. As for our preparations we have been preparing very well for them,” he said.
“Going into the first round with Al Ahly is very important to everyone, it’s important to the club itself and everyone that is playing for Sundowns.
“For us it’s just to make sure that we go through to the next round and for that, it requires each and everyone to be on their highest form and just to do good on that particular day.”
The hitman shared his ambitions to get another star for the club and the possibility of turning that dream into reality:
“It’s very important for the club to get a second star. It would be a dream come true for each and every player because every player wants to win this, it would be such a blessing in one’s life having a second star.”
The game will kick off at 21:00 and will be available via livestream on the Official Mamelodi Sundowns Facebook Page.
