Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will lock horns once again in the second edition of the Shell Helix Ultra cup at FNB Stadium tomorrow (15:00).
This is said to be a pre-season cup friendly. We know, however, that when these two sides meet the rivalry is quite obvious with either team wanting to end the day with the bragging rights.
The Brazilians won the cup in 2018 at the FNB stadium with goals courtesy of Jeremy Brockie and Themba Zwane for a 2-1 win, while Bernard Parker managing to put one through Kennedy Mweene.
Both coaches – Pitso Mosimane and Ernst Middendorp, go into Saturday’s clash with depleted teams with three of Sundowns’s players having had to report to international duty, while Chiefs are set to divide their squad for the Macufe Cup game against Bloemfontein Celtic the next day.
