Tanzania champions Simba Sports Club are set to unveil their new coach on Saturday and two other assistants who will guide the team in the CAF Champions League group stage.
The club is strongly linked to AS Vita and DRC national team coach Jean-Florent Ibenge who was conspicuously absent from the team’s draw against Libya on Thursday.
Simba CEO Barbara Gonzalez, pictured above, said all was on course to unveil the new head coach, a position that was left vacant after the departure of Sven Vandenbroeck.
The Dar es Salaam giants host the five-day Simba Super Cup which will feature Congo’s TP Mazembe and Sudan’s Al Hilal in a bid to prepare for the CAF Champions’ League Group Stage.
“Before we kick off the tournament which kicks off on January 27 we shall have the new coach already working with the team,” she said.
Gonzalez was seen with the highly rated Congolese mentor, pictured below, a few days ago.
Simba are in Group A alongside serial Champions Al Ahly of Egypt, DRC’s AS Vita and Sudan’s El Merreikh.
The Super Cup will run from 27 to 31 January.
