It was a good weekend for Mzansi footballers abroad.
Leandra Smeda got a victory on her first start while Luther Singh and Thembi Kgatlana continued to shine for their respective clubs.
KOBAMELO KODISANG
The South African U23 winger lasted 76 minutes and scored his 7th league goal for SC Braga B as they thrashed Vilaverdense 7-0 to maintain their grip on top spot in their group.
LEANDRA SMEDA
Smeda got her first start of the season for Famalicao and played the entire 90 minutes as they beat Maritimo 3-1 in the Portuguese top flight.
LUTHER SINGH
Singh was surprisingly on the bench for Pacos Ferreira, but when he was introduced after 67 minutes, the Stars of Africa graduate made an impact with a well-placed finish to get his second goal of the season for high-flying Ferreira.
BONGANI ZUNGU
The former Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder was introduced after 61 minutes as Rangers continued their dominance in the Scottish Premiership with a 5-0 thrashing of Ross County on Saturday evening.
PERCY TAU
Brighton and Hove Albion progressed to the next round of the English FA Cup with a narrow 2-1 win against Blackpool on Saturday. Tau got his second start in a Brighton shirt and played 61 minutes in the game.
REFILOE JANE
Jane got yet another start for AC Milan as they kept the pressure on log leaders Juventus with a 2-1 win against Fiorentina in Serie A.
KURT ABRAHAMS
The 24-year-old played 45 minutes and laid an assist as KV Westerlo defeated RFC Seraing 4-3 in the Belgian second tier on Sunday afternoon.
GIFT LINKS
AGF Aarhus continued their preparations for the second half of the season. Aarhus hosted and defeated Brondby 2-1 and Links scored the first goal of the game.
THEMBI KGATLANA AND NOKO MATLOU
The South African duo was given another start in the Spanish Primera Division. Both played 90 minutes with Kgatlana scoring her 6th goal of the season as Eibar were held to a 2-2 draw by Real Sociedad.
