Speedy midfielder Gaston Sirino is happy to be part of the Mamelodi Sundowns squad and looking forward to replicating last season’s fine form.
The Uruguayan footballer returned to Masandawana’s camp after being out for a couple of months due to an injury.
He was linked with a move to the Egyptian giants Al Ahly at the beginning of the season. However, the Tshwane-based outfit decided to terminate talks with the Red Devils, citing that the clubs are too far from each other on the transfer fee for the 29-year-old star.
“I feel happy to be back in the side after being away for a long time,” Sirino told Sundowns’ official website.
The gifted playmaker scores and creates goals for Bafana Ba Style, and brings a notable influence to Sundowns’ attack as he boasts an excellent pace and awareness.
“It’s a great feeling to come back and help the team with an assist or a goal whenever I can and I just want to go out and work hard for the side,” he adds.
The club also added that they are happy to have Sirino back with the squad, and hoping he will live up to his expectations to emulate what he achieved last season.
“This season we just want to make sure we keep the standard from last season and bring more accolades to the club, we want to dominate the league and go further in CAF Champions League, it is a cup where we come up against very good teams and we do have the players that can go out there and win the cup,” says Sirino in his closing remarks.
