The Tshwane University of Technology Ladies (TUT) have closed the gap on log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to 4 points after beating Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 2-0 in the Safa National Women’s League (SNWL) at Siwelele Park Stadium on Sunday.
TUT Ladies’ opening goal was scored by captain Hildah Magaia and the second being an own goal by Celtic Ladies as the Red Machines registered their third victory in 2020.
However, the log leaders Sundowns Ladies have a game in hand as their encounter against University of Western Cape Ladies (UWC) was postponed until further notice.
The University of Johannesburg Ladies (UJ) got back to winning ways as they narrowly beat Richmond Ladies 2-1 at the Uj Soweto Campus Stadium on Sunday.
The win sees UJ Ladies move to 6th position on the log standings while Thunderbirds Ladies beat Tsunami Queens 4-3 in what was a bottom of the table clash at Showground Stadium in Bethlehem on Saturday.
Coal City Wizards edged out Golden Ladies 3-2 at Witbank stadium on Saturday while Durban Ladies beat First Touch Academy 3-2 at SJ Smith Stadium on Saturday.
This weekend’s action of the SNWL saw 22 goals being scored with the league set to resume on the 25th and 26th of January.
