Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium could very well host the Telkom Knockout quarterfinal clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates early next month, FARPost.co.za has been informed.
It’s certainly not many derbies that have been played outside of Gauteng, but Durban has previously hosted arguably South Africa’s biggest clash on the football calendar.
The reason for the possible shift to KZN is because of the Soweto Marathon taking place on the weekend of the derby.
Considering its 85 000 capacity, Moses Mabhida would be a great alternative to accommodate the two sides and their multitude of supporters.
Nothing is confirmed at this stage.
