Spurs secure the services of Brazilian trio


Cape Town Spurs have announced the arrival of the Brazilian trio Elisio Batista da Conceição Junior, Igor Ferreira Neto de Oliveira and Kassiano Soares Mendonça.

The Ikamva club completed their foreign quota with the addiction of Botswana international Mpho Kgaswane.

Spurs’ new recruits join fellow countryman Jairo Souza Da who signed for the club earlier this year.

The Urban Warriors are scrambling to avoid finishing at the bottom of the GladAfrica Championship log standings as they currently sit 15th with 10 points after 11 games, just one point ahead of Bizana Pondo Chiefs, who occupy the last position.

Kassiano, 25, is a versatile defender, who cut his teeth at the famous Fluminense academy before spells in Finland, Slovakia, Malta and most recently Thailand.

Batista, 27, joins the club having last played for Ferroviário Atlético Clube in Brazil. He also had his fair share in Portugal, Australia and Malta.

Igor, who is popularly known as the ‘Brazilian Balotelli’, most recently donned the colours of Clube Atlético Serranense. He is 24 years of age, making him the youngest of the trio.

The Cape Town-based side added that the trio will be eligible to make their debuts on receiving their respective work permits.
