Brazilian international Lucas Moura is of the opinion that Tottenham Hotspur would have a hard time finding a replacement for Harry Kane if he decides to leave the North London club at end of the 2019/20 English Premier League season (EPL).
In an interview with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, the Spurs captain Kane didn’t rule out a possible move away from his boyhood club – further increasing speculation that he could part ways with Spurs at the end of the season despite his contract ending in 2024.
“It’s hard to speak about the future, about a negotiation because it’s a personal decision. I’m sure that every season Tottenham receive offers for Harry Kane,” said Moura as quoted by Sky Sports.
Kane is Spurs’ third all-time leading goal scorer with 181 goals, behind Bobby Smith (208 goals) and Jimmy Greaves (266 goals).
He averages 20 goals in all competitions in the last five seasons, but the England captain is yet to win any silverware with Spurs.
“Everyone knows he’s a big player. He’s very important for us, he’s our striker and scores almost every game,” said Moura.
“I’m sure that [Jose] Mourinho wants to keep him. He counts on him for the rest of the season as well as for the next one.”
The Premier League like many other Leagues and sporting activities in the world has been suspended since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
