Former football stars will once against grace the David Makhura Charity Games taking place at the Marobjane Sports Ground, Senwabarwana in Limpopo on Monday, December 16.
The South African Soccer Legends led by Doctor Khumalo will be taking on the Bochum Legends led by Gauteng Premier David Makhura at 14:00.
This is the 4th edition of the games that is aimed at giving hope and encouraging young people from the Marobjane village, the Premier’s home village.
Former Bloemfontein Celtic player, Kennedy Makara who is also part of the SA Legends team says the Premier invite the legends to cone and give hope to the kids at his village.
“It’s also another way of then legend to give back to the community and there are speaking a message against the social ills of the community, so we are going there to give them hope. We have travelled this road before we were young so this is just us taking out time together with the Premier to give back through a soccer match where they can come watch their former favourite players” he said.
The confirmed former professional footballers who will be participating are; Thapelo Liau(Orlando Pirates), Kennedy Makara (Bloemfontein Celtics), Lucky Lekgwathi (Orlando Pirates), Doctor Khumalo (Kaizer Chiefs), Teboho Moloi(Pirates), Molefi Ntsoelengoe (SuperSport United), Teboho Mokoena(Jomo Cosmos), Lebogang Kukame (Jomo Cosmos), Edward Motale(Pirates), Jappie Motale (SuperSport United), Sidney Moshikaro (Kaizer Chiefs), Brian Baloyi (Kaizer Chiefs), Steve Lekoelea(Pirates), Dukuduku Makhanya(Pirates), Labela Mokgatla (Ria Stars) and Sidney Malope (Jomo Cosmos).
