Iqraam Rayners has put pen to paper on a pre-contract with SuperSport United.
It has been reported in the past weeks that Cape Town City and SuperSport United were chasing Rayners’s signature, with the striker in the final six months of his deal with Stellenbosch.
However, Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker has confirmed that the 24-year-old has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United becoming their marquee signing at the end of the season.
“I can confirm that Iqraam is off to SuperSport United when our campaign is done,” said Barker.
“We can only wish him well. He is a youngster with undoubted talent and no surprise to see a big club come knocking at the door and present him with an offer that he couldn’t refuse.
“But he is with us for the next four months and I’ve told him he has a legacy to leave behind.”
The forward scored 18 goals last season to help the club win promotion to the Absa Premiership.
