Leagues across Europe have entered the final phase of the season and a number of African stars were in action for their clubs abroad over the weekend.
MANE, SALAH, PEPE, EL NENY & AUBAMEYANG
Liverpool closed the gap on the top four with an emphatic victory against Arsenal the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
A brace from Diogo Jota and a solo strike by Mohamed Salah was enough to give the Reds three well deserved points at the Emirates.
Sadio Mane also played the entire 90 minutes and laid an assist for the champions who are back in contention for a top four finish.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed El Neny were also in action for the Gunners, but couldn’t help the club avoid the defeat.
Bissouma played the entire 90 minutes for Brighton who lost 2-1 against Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Brighton scored first, but allowed the Red Devils to come back in the second half.

Aston Villa romped to a 3-1 home win against Fulham at Villa Park.
Mohammed Trezeguet came on as a second half substitute to net a brace while Bertrand Traore laid an assist for the third goal scored by Ollie Watkins.
Ola Aina and Junior Lemina were named in the starting lineup for the visitors, but they couldn’t make a meaningful contribution to help the London club get points.
Djenepo was introduced in the second half for Southampton as they beat Burnley 3-2 at St Mary’s Stadium.
IHEANACHO, NDIDI & MAHREZ
All three Africans started in Leicester City’s 2-0 loss against Manchester City on Saturday.
Kelechi Iheanacho lasted 72 minutes while Wilfred Ndidi played 83 minutes for Leicester City.
Mahrez started and also got substituted in the second half for the visitors.
MBAYE DIAGNE & HAKIM ZIYECH
Struggling West Bromwich Albion thrashed 10 men Chelsea 5-2 on Saturday.
Ziyech started and got substituted in the second half for Chelsea while Diagne was on the score sheet for the visitors who stunned Thomas Tuchel’s side at Stamford Bridge.
GEOFFREY KONDOGBIA & YOUSEF EN-NESYRI
Both stars started on the bench as Sevilla defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in La Liga.
Kondogbia came on in the second half for Atletico while En-Nesyri was also introduced in the second half for Sevilla.
The veteran midfielder started and got substituted in the second half of the game as Eibar lost 2-0 against Real Madrid.
Gyasi played the entire game, but couldn’t help Spezia avoid a 2-1 loss against Lazio in Serie A.
The veteran winger played 78 minutes for Parma as they drew 2-2 with Benevento in Serie A.

It was a historic day for Nigerian football as both strikers found the back of the net in Napoli’s 4-3 victory against Crotone.
Simy Nwankwo scored a brace for Crotone, but it wasn’t enough as Crotone suffered another defeat in the division.

AC Milan drew 1-1 with Sampdoria on Saturday.
Franck Kessie played the entire 90 minutes and laid an assist while Ismaila Bennacer got substituted in the 60th minute for Milan.
Keita Balde was introduced in the second half for visiting Sampdoria.
The Malian started and got substituted in the second half as RB Leipzig lost 1-0 against reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Harit played the whole game for Schalke while Frimpong was introduced in the second half for Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen won 2-1 on the day and took all three points.
Simon lasted 90 minutes as FC Nantes lost 2-1 against OGC Nice in Ligue 1.

Both strikers played the whole 90 minutes as Angers held Montpellier to a 1-1 draw.
Bahoken scored the goal for Angers who will be pleased to have gotten a crucial point at home.

The anchor started and got substitute in the second half as Paris Saint-Germain got stunned by Lille at home.
The champions lost 1-0 in a game that had two red cards and six yellow cards.

Krepin Diatta was introduced in the second half of the game in Monaco’s 4-0 victory against FC Metz.
