SuperSport bidding for Chippa revenge

SuperSport United have a score to settle when they welcome Chippa United to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday evening in an Absa Premiership clash.

The ‘Chilli Boys’ narrowly beat ‘Matsatsantsa’ 1-0 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in December and Dean Furman said the defeat before the Christmas break is still fresh in their memory.

“We need to use that as a motivator going into this game,” Furman commented.

“After our recent (1-2) defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns, it is now key how we bounce back. We will be looking to pick up maximum points in order to keep pushing up the table.

Meanwhile, Chippa head coach Norman Mapeza will be looking to continue his good run of form and complete a league double over the Tshwane-based side.

Despite being 4 points behind second-placed Sundowns and 11 adrift of log leaders Kaizer Chiefs, the optimistic SuperSport coach Kaitano Tembo said, “We’ll keep on fighting until the end.

Chippa are on a 3-match unbeaten run in the league and a win against SuperSport will see them move from 10th spot into the top 8.
