SuperSport United have confirmed one coronavirus case in their camp, a few days before they enter the Premier Soccer League Biological Safety Environment (BSE).
‘Matsatsantsa’ fall into the last group of the Absa Premiership clubs who are due to report to the BSE on Friday, 14 August, alongside Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United, Black Leopards and Polokwane City.
United who will play their remaining League home matches at Bidvest Stadium announced the news of the Covid-19 case on their social media platforms on Friday.
“We would like to confirm one positive Covid-19 case from the second round of testing that was completed this week,” the club announced.
“The player has currently been put into quarantine for 10 days and will be retested thereafter. A group of 40 personnel were tested (25 players and 15 staff members).
“The rest of the squad will resume training and will continue to follow all protocols before heading into the bubble for the completion of the 2019/2020 season,” read the statement.
United will restart the current campaign with a home encounter against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, 16 August.
