SuperSport fight back to earn a point in Tshwane Derby


A spirited SuperSport United side struck twice late on to salvage a 2-2 against Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in a DStv Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Trailing by 2-0 down, Ghampani Lungu and Teboho Mokoena scored in the final 20 minutes of the match with Sundowns conceding for the first time in the league this season.

It was an open and exciting game with plenty of chances created at both ends.

Sundowns’ goals were scored by Neo Maema on the stroke of halftime and Peter Shalulile, three minutes into the second stanza.

The Brazilians remain unbeaten and extend their gap at the top of the log, while Matsatsantsa are in fourth place, eight points adrift of the leaders after 12 matches.
