The township of SOWETO is on the brink of welcoming its own football giant back into the ABSA Premiership. Swallows FC is currently perched at the summit of the GladAfrica Championship, tied on points with Ajax Cape Town, but having a better goal difference.

Coach Truter joins the famous list of young coaches to emerge in our country, the likes of Molefi Ntseki, Kwanele Kopo, Thabo Senong and David Notoane. ‘Brakkies’ as he is commonly known in the football fraternity, epitomizes courage, talent, football understanding and an eagerness to continuously learn.

4. Perfect player blend
Swallows have the experienced players like Vuyo Mere and Lebogang Mokwena, who have won leagues whilst playing for some of the best clubs in the country. In addition, the club also saw it fit to recruit some of the exciting young players.

5. Chiefs partnership
At the beginning of the season, Swallows approached Chiefs for the services of some of their bright young talent. In came, Given Thibedi, Ayanda Rorwana, Sizwe Thwala and Itumeleng Shopane. Out of the loaned players, Thibedi has been phenomenal, in displaying technical proficiency and tactical understanding suited to Coach Truter’s playing approach.
