Swallows FC chairperson David Mogashoa has revealed that a single player in the club has tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.
The Soweto-based outfit have become the second GladAfrica Championship club to confirm a positive Covid-19 case after TS Galaxy announced on Tuesday evening that three of their players tested positive as the club conducted a series of tests last week Thursday.
“We would like to confirm that Swallows FC have one player who tested positive for Covid-19,” said Mogashoa on Wednesday.
“We have notified PSL through our team doctor and all the people involved. We ask that those who test positive are not stigmatized but supported. Thank you,” concluded the Swallows Chairperson.
Absa Premiership and GladAfrica Championship teams are conducting tests for Covid-19 in preparation for the restart of the 2019/20 season as the government have given the PSL the green-light and approved their plans for a safe return to action.
Meanwhile, in the Absa Premiership, four clubs have recorded Covid-19 cases. Bloemfontein Celtic , Kaizer Chiefs , Stellenbosch FC  and Orlando Pirates .
