Swallows players to watch v Chiefs

The DStv Premiership rookies Swallows FC are one of the five clubs in the league yet to lose a match this season.

Sitting at position 2, Swallows have won 2 and drawn 2 of their opening matches of the season with 8 points.

Their impressive defence record has also seen them concede only one goal, with TS Galaxy being the only other team to concede one goal in four matches.

A win against Kaizer Chiefs will see them climb on top of the table above Mamelodi Sundowns.

FARPost looks at some of the key players to watch for Swallows tonight.

Tlakusani Mthethwa

The 27-year-old has been one of Swallows’ best players so far in the current season. His command, creativity and no-nonsense attitude in the middle of the park has already earned him two DStv Premiership Man of the Match awards this season. He will certainly be one of the players Chiefs will need to be worried about.

Ruzaigh Gamildien

Experience plays an important part in such important matches and the encounter tonight will be no different. With close to 10 seasons in the elite League, the 31-year-old is already an important member of the Dube Birds since joining at the beginning of the season. With 2 League goals so far, Chiefs will also need to keep a close eye on him.

Given Thibedi

On loan from Kaizer Chiefs, Thibedi has featured in all the four League matches so far. Playing against his parent club, the 23-year-old will have a lot to prove tonight, in order to catch the attention of current Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt.
