Tanzanian and Egyptian giants Simba SC and Al Ahly have entered into a mutually beneficial partnership.
This follows a fact-finding mission to the Ahly headquarters in Cairo earlier this week by Simba’s newly elected Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Barbara Gonzalez and club’s Director Board of Directors Mulamu Nghambi.
Gonzalez, who recently replaced Senzo Mbatha, believes the agreement between the reigning Tanzania Mainland Premier League and newly crowned Egyptian Premier League champions “will see the clubs cooperate on various business and technical ventures”.
The club further wrote on its social media pages: “Our CEO Barbara Gonzalez leading the Director Board of Directors, Mulamu Nghambi have visited the headquarters of Al Ahly Club in Cairo, Egypt and agreed to cooperate in business areas, technician and development of players.”
“By building a talent promotion centre in cooperation and Al Ahly team is the first station outside of Egypt (Africa) which will be run by Simba and the club.”
The two clubs have also agreed that the Egyptian side will visit Dar es Salaam later this year to play a friendly game against Simba.
Both Ahly and Simba will represent their respective countries in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League.
