Tau gets first Premier League win


It was a weekend of mixed results for South African stars abroad as FARPost wraps up this weekend’s performances of Mzansi footballers abroad.

KZN academy graduate Sibusiso Shibane played the entire 90 minutes for Agueda as they beat Vila Cortez 1-0 at home in the Campeonato de Portugal on Sunday afternoon. The striker continues to search for his 5th goal of the season and his first of the new year.


The Lion of Judah got his second English Premier League appearance of the season for Brighton and Hove Albion as they got three important points away at Leeds United on Saturday. Neal Maupay’s first half strike was enough to give the Seagulls a 1-0 victory at Elland Road.

Tau came off the bench after 73 minutes as Potter deployed him as a lone striker.


Chislett got his 18th League One start, but couldn’t help AFC Wimbledon avoid a 3-0 loss against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.


The 20-year-old left back played 90 minutes for Pinhalvonense as they lost 2-1 against Lusitano in the Portuguese third division on Saturday evening.


After returning from an injury that sidelined him for three weeks, Netshitangani returned in fine style for FC Malaga City as he scored a beautiful strike in additional time from outside the box to salvage a draw against FUE in the Spanish 4th division.


As the Danish Superliga nears its return to action after the winter break, AGF Aarhus has begun preparations for the league by lining up a few club friendlies. Last Friday the Danish club drew 2-2 against Viborg. Gift Links played the last 17 minutes of the game.
