Tau instrumental as Brighton salvage draw against West Ham

A number of South African players were in action for their respective clubs abroad this past weekend.

Lorenzo Gordinho got his first goal for Viborg while Percy Tau made an impact upon his return to action for Brighton and Hove Albion.

SPHEPHELO SITHOLE & THIBANG PHETE

Phete played 90 minutes while Sithole started and got substituted in the 58th minute as SAD Belenenses lost 2-0 against Santa Clara on Sunday.

THABO CELE

The midfielder was a second half substitute as Cova di Piedade drew 0-0 against Vilafranquense.

MIHLALI MAYAMBELA

Mayambela played 66 minutes as Academica beat Benfica 1-0 in the Portuguese Segunda Liga on Sunday afternoon.

JERMAINE SEOPOSENWE 

Seoposenwe lasted 90 minutes and laid an assist as SC Braga defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on Sunday.

HILDAH MAGAIA

The striker played 90 minutes and scored her fifth goal of the season as BK Moron beat Jitex 2-1 in Sweden.

REFILOE JANE

Jane played 90 minutes as AC Milan drew 0-0 against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A.

NOKO MATLOU

Matlou had to be stretched off in the first half as SD Eibar lost 2-0 against Real Madrid.

PERCY TAU

Tau came on in the 74th minute and laid an assist to help Brighton and Hove Albion salvage a draw against West Ham United in the Premier League.

LUTHER SINGH

The 23-year-old was introduced in the second half, but couldn’t help Pacos Ferreira avoid a 2-0 defeat against Gil Vicente.

LEBOGANG PHIRI

Phiri lasted the entire 90 minutes as EA Guingamp beat Niort 2-0 in Ligue 2.

BOIPELO MASHIGO

Mashigo was a 74th minute substitute, but couldn’t help Unterhaching avoid a 1-0 defeat against Hansa on Saturday evening.

LARS VELDWIJK

The striker was introduced in the 16th minute as FC Suwon drew 0-0 against Gangwon.

LIAM JORDAN

The striker played 77 minutes as Helsingor beat Frederecia 2-0 in the Danish 1st Division.

LORENZO GORDINHO

The former Kaizer Chiefs defender lasted 90 minutes and scored his first goal of the season as Viborg thumped Esbjerg 4-0.

DEAN SOLOMONS & TASHREEQ MATTHEWS

Matthews lasted the entire 90 minutes while Dean Solomons was introduced in the second half as Varbergs BoIS lost 3-1 against Hammarby.
