Budding SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule has been enjoying a good vein of form, having scored a goal and provided two assists in four DStv Premiership matches so far this season.
However, ‘Matsatsantsa’ head coach Kaitano Tembo says Mbule is yet to reach his full potential.
The former Amajita international came through SuperSport’s youth ranks and at just 22, he is in his fourth season in South Africa’s top-flight with over 60 matches under his belt but Tembo said the talented Mbule needs to up his game.
“Technically Sipho is one of the best players in the league, he has changed the way he plays but he needs to affect matches a bit more,” said Tembo.
“Mbule gets into good areas and does not usually get into and he also needs to try and improve on his fitness levels because when he gets tired, he starts to make a lot of mistakes and that is one area we need to try and work on.”
“Last season he had a good start and thereafter he disappeared towards the end of the season in the bubble,” added the ‘Matsatsantsa’ mentor.
Mbule, who has stated that he wants to help the Tshwane side win the league title this season has struggled for consistency over the years but has the backing of Tembo.
“So, we need him to be more consistent in creating goals for his teammates and he has to improve on his scoring because you can’t have a talented player like that who you don’t use to his full potential and that is what we are trying to do.”
