Probably the hottest young prospect in world football today Cameroonian striker Youssoufa Moukoko is breaking records in Germany and in world football currently.
Last year the 15-year-old made history by being the youngster player to ever appear and score in the UEFA youth league when he made his debut in Dortmund’s 2-1 victory against Barcelona aged just 14.
In his youth career the striker has scored 128 goals in 86 appearances for both Dortmund’s U-17 and U-19, a goal scoring record in Germany with no other player in history able to achieve such impressive numbers at that age.
It’s only the beginning of great things for the teen dubbed ‘the next Messi’ as the DFB football leadership has amended the age limit rules which will allow players to play senior football as soon as they turn 16 years old.
Moukoko has already been offered the number 18 squad number at Dortmund as he nears his debut in November when he turns 16. The attacker’s low centre of gravity, ability to use both feet and speed have helped him to become a more advanced striker as he keeps developing at one of the world’s best academy systems.
Who is Moukoko?? :
The young striker was born in Yaounde in November 2004 and went on to spend the first 10 years of his life living with his grandparents in Cameroon before joining his father in Germany in June of 2014.
The 15-year-old then started playing in the youth academy of local club St Pauli which is where his abilities as a goal poacher started showing. Over the course of two seasons, Moukoko bagged 23 goals in just 13 games for the club’s under age teams which got the attention of some of the Bundesliga’s big hitters with Borussia Dortmund winning the race to scoop the youngster.
Moukoko has represented Germany at U-16 level scoring three goals so far, but he is yet to represent Cameroon at any level so far . The striker might make his debut on the Bundesliga’s Match day 8 as Dortmund will be taking on Hertha Berlin in the league.
