Bloemfontein Celtic coach John Maduka says their focus is to collect as many points as possible in the first round of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season as he believes the second round will only get tougher.
Maduka and his troops take on the high-flying SuperSport United away at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Wednesday in a league clash, kickoff at 17:00.
Celtic were held to a 1-1 draw by AmaZulu at home on Sunday and have now earned only two points from their last three league games, leaving them 10th in the log standings with nine points from nine matches.
The quick turnover between Sunday’s draw and their trip to Pretoria on Wednesday has left Maduka focusing on player management rather than preparation.
“Back to back games are not easy and there is not much we can do in terms of preparation,” he said.
“The only thing we can do is make sure we manage the players well so that they recover quicker and are ready for that particular game.
“Our focus is more on getting the team fit so that they can be ready for the game against SuperSport.
“We want to collect points as quick as possible because we know the second round is not easy.”
