Baroka FC mentor Thoka Matsemela aims to clinch a second win in a row against Lamotville Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership encounter this afternoon at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
The kick-off is at 17:00.
“I think from our side we have prepared ourselves very well for this game. It’s going to be a tough game for us as we are playing against a very good team,” Thoka told the media.
“Arrows are playing good football but their last game with Black Leopards they didn’t do well as they lost the match. They’re wounded, and I don’t think they will give us a chance to beat them – yet we are well prepared.
“We want to see ourselves getting something good out of this game. The winning momentum is still there and for us is to get a point or maximum points. So, is continuity from the previous game we won against Leopards.”
However, Abafana Bes’thende will be looking to get back on track after suffering a second league defeat at the expense of Lidoda Duvha last week, their first home loss of the season. The game ended up in 1-0.
A win for the KZN-based outfit could potentially see them climb a position or two as far as the log position is concerned.
“We had a break last week when other teams were playing in the Nedbank Cup. It has given us a chance to prepare just like Arrows who did not play last week,” adds Bakgaga coach.
Baroka will have to face Mandla Ncikazi’s side without five important players, Richard Mbulu, Vusi Sibiya and Leonardo Afonso who are out due to injuries, while Jemondre Dickens and Jean Munganga are not feeling well but expected to report back to training next week.
